What is Alien Bazaar?

Alien Bazaar is a hardware hackathon at Hacker Bloc, a 3-story hacker house in Warsaw. The idea is simple: unite robots into one ecosystem and automate the house. We gather the 20 best teams from across Europe and hand each one a different piece of hardware spanning 6 robotics categories. We don't limit you with tasks — we provide all the components, tools and space, so you can come up with your own idea and bring it to life.

FAQ

A laptop.

September 1.

No. A team must have at least 3 people.

Yes. You can bring your own electronics, robot, tools and anything else you need. Mention it during team registration using the "I want to bring my own hardware" option. Bringing your own equipment does not prevent you from reserving hardware from us.

We provide a list of materials and a mentor. After the selected teams are announced on September 18, you will have one week to design the hardware and send us the model so we can print everything before the hackathon. Your mentor will guide the design process and work alongside you.

Each hardware category has a mentor. Before the event, you can contact them through our platform with technical hardware questions. During the hackathon, they will help you bring your idea to life.

We use three criteria: creativity of the idea, proactive collaboration with others, and the effort invested during the hackathon. Judging happens at the end of the event, so the final presentation also matters.

Yes.

You can only book one main hardware unit: a drone, robot arm, underwater drone, robodog, quadruped robot, humanoid or headset. At the event you will be able to unlock extras such as cables, Raspberry Pis, camera modules and more.

Yes, but we will not provide beds or sleeping rooms. You can bring your own sleeping bag or sleeping pad.

We will not reimburse travel or accommodation costs.

Yes, there is free unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi for all participants.

No. Everything created during the hackathon stays here.
